So, you can imagine the disappointment Thais felt when her newly adopted four month old puppy, Pele, was listless and could not hold down food or water. Alarmed, she sought out veterinary help immediately. But the news wasn’t good. After a fluid injection to lessen his dehydration, the vet told Thais that Pele was seriously ill. She was strongly advised to euthanize. Pele’s condition worsened and Thais was frantic. Every vet she called recommended the same option: euthanasia. “We could not stand the thought of giving up on him so we continued to search for a vet that would believe in his ability to bounce back…” Thais told us. Finally, Pele was admitted to Old Dominion Animal Clinic. And there he was diagnosed with Parvo. Pele was placed on IV’s and began the slow ascent to good health. Helping Pele achieve a new lease on life wasn’t cheap. And Thais was greatly concerned about paying for Pele’s new found health. That’s when she got in touch with The Mosby Foundation to ask for financial assistance. We were touched by her determination and commitment to give this little pup a new life. “He is so sweet and I have grown so fond of him in the small time I have spent with him, especially since he’s a stray,” Thais shared with us. Wouldn’t it be nice if every dog had someone like Thais on their side? It was our pleasure to help
